Amazing breathtaking and unexpected.Your jaw will drop to the floor.This episode perfectly sets up the nest season and what a thrilling way to dot it. The Actors specially Emilia Clarke Waooo she has outdone herself in this season I must say. A big shout out to Alan Taylor for his masterful direction and Imagination .Thank you to the creators of this show for giving us this Amazing Spectacle. Watch it drink it because you are going to be amazed.
Visually this episode is extremely well done, but the writing and editing of this really brings it down for me. It just didn't feel anything like Game of Thrones anymore, but rather a Hollywood action movie. I suppose it's hard to explain why.
Let's start with the fact that their whole plan to fetch the wight is absolutely ridiculous and makes no sense. So this pretty much makes the entire premise of the episode is stupid.
And the episode left me baffled from so many questions. Like, why didn't they bring horses? Why did they run in the opposite direction to Gendy (who was going back to Eastwatch)? And of course the whole time bending thing. Basically, this episode was really, really stretching my suspension of disbelief. It's probably the dumbest episode of the show yet.
Deus Ex Machinas - well, they weren't really Deus Ex Machinas, but rather everything just had to happen at the last possible time. Daenerys arrived just in time to save them, same with Benjen.
Game of Thrones has now resorted to using red shirts. They made the action all the more confusing.
There are plenty of other things that irked me and you might dismiss them as nitpicking, but if every single scene has something I can point to and say that doesn't make sense, it becomes a problem.
Quickly about the Arya thing. I don't hate it like others do. I think it makes absolute sense for Arya to act this way - she is a sociopath and a psychopath. I just don't like the execution of it - it feels forced and rushed.
And lastly we had a scene with Jon and Dany, which genuinely made me cringe. The moment he calls her Dany, I just facepalmed.
